Pasadena Art Alliance
About PAAGrantsFundraisingMemberContactHome

With vitality and enthusiasm, the women of the Pasadena Art Alliance have raised millions of dollars to support contemporary visual art in Southern California. Since 1955, this organization has been unwavering in its purpose yet ever flexible in seeking innovative ways to fulfill its mission. Unique in its independence, not associated with any group or art institution, it is open to new artistic expressions and concepts, often championing projects that might not be funded by traditional methods.

The PAA continues to impress the Southern California arts community with its new ideas in fund raising. The biennial art auction features the donated works of over a hundred artists. A collaborative photography exhibit gives art students opportunities to create and exhibit commissioned portraits. And the legendary Treasure Sale speaks for itself.

All monies raised go directly to the very heart of the Art Alliance: the grants program. The grants committee studies each written request, makes site visits and then makes thoughtful decisions about which proposals to fund. Funds are granted to established as well as unconventional institutions in order to underwrite exhibitions, sponsor programs or support arts education. With each grant, the organization hopes to encourage the creativity of the human spirit and to enrich the cultural life of the entire community.

Artrageous

On Saturday evening, May 5, 2012, Pasadena Art Alliance will hold its sixteenth biennial art auction, ARTrageous, and our Honoree is Jay Belloli, retired director of Gallery Programs, Amory for the Arts. This legendary evening, to be held at the historic California Club in downtown Los Angeles, will be filled with wonderful contemporary art and sculpture plus the unexpected. There will be approximately 100 works of art donated by some of southern California’s most electrifying, emerging and established artists.

REASON FOR THE FUNDRAISER:
Since 1955 The Art Alliance has been a major force in supporting contemporary visual arts throughout the greater Southern California area. In our 56 year history of funding projects and institutions that make a difference in our society, PAA has raised almost $4,000,000 to provide grants for non-profit art organizations. Through our grants program we have provided opportunities for artists and art organizations to push their limits and stretch their imaginations.
