LACMA is the largest encyclopedic museum west of Chicago. Through its far-reaching collections, the museum is both a resource to and a reflection of the many cultural communities and heritages in Southern California.

Funding for the acquisition of an historic work by L.A. artist, Charles Gaines, entitled “Trisha Brown Dance, Set 3” (1980-81), which documents a series of dance movements in photography and system drawings.
