Los Angeles County Museum
of Art
LACMA is the largest encyclopedic museum west of
Chicago. Through its far-reaching collections, the museum is both
a resource to and a reflection of the many cultural communities and
heritages in Southern California.
Pasadena Art Alliance supported the acquisition of Francesca Gabbiani’s
piece, “Untitled (Stairs 1)” 2006, colored paper and
gouache on paper. Gabbiani uses the landscape of Los
Angeles and sets from Hollywood films as a source of inspiration. The
staircase featured in “Untitled (Stairs 1)” is based
on the McKittrick Hotel in “Vertigo.”
